Description: Deaderick Auditorium is an Art Deco full proscenium theater with a large orchestra pit that has a seating capacity of 763. This auditorium is used for band concerts, community performances, large meetings, and UIL competitions. 

Audio/Visual Capabilities: The stage features a 15’ x 25‘retractable screen and a media cart and a portable sound system can be deployed upon request. Media cart includes: cart, laptop, LCD projector, portable screen (if needed) and a power strip. Portable sound system includes: Seven channel mixing board with inputs for microphones and instruments with an auxiliary channel for smart phone/IPod and two 250 watt speakers.                                                                                                                            

Room Features: The stage is equipped with a counter weight fly system battens bearing full black masking, red or gold grand drapes, three electrics, two sound deflection battens (as well as four rolling sound deflection units), and five free battens. The performance space on the stage has been increased with the addition of an orchestra pit cover that can be removed for special events that require full access to the orchestra pit area. There is direct access to restrooms from the stage as well as a couple of small dressing rooms and a green room type setting area. Deaderick Auditorium has a modest in-house light system pending upgrading.

Limitations: Odessa College does not allow this room to be decorated with glitter or confetti, nor does it allow anything to be hung, tacked, or taped to the walls of this room. In addition the college does not allow any food or beverages  to be brought in to or consumed in this facility.

Additional Charges:

  • Facility Manager
    • $15.00 per hour (A facility manager must be present during all non-college related events).
  • Lighting Technician
    • $25.00 per hour (This includes requests for lighting during rehearsals).
  • Audio/Visual
    • $25.00 One- time usage fee.
  • Pit Cover Removal
    • $250.00 One-time maintenance fee.
